The Chinook location of Starbucks/Chapters ( or is that Chapters/Starbucks?) is fantastic for me. Old Navy is across the hallway which allows me to sit, enjoy a coffee and pull the laptop out for some quality time between me and the latest piece of assigned work. That being said…

Usually coming here allows me to relax a bit. Do some work on the notebook. It lets Sly shop unhindered by my exasperated sighs and inability to co-ordinate effectively. I’m handicapped that way.

I’m doing better than I was back in the middle of December.  Much better.  I don’t have an urge to strangle a particular human being at this point even though he’s still causing me grief.  Oh don’t you worry.  I’m about to give you an explanation but I wanted to share some other stuff before I lose my mind and begin typing in expletives.  Thanks for asking!

This last semester was really hard on me. I’m not talking just about the physical trials of staying up until 0200 or 0300 and then being up again at 0700. Sure that was tough but when you combine that with the constant strain of keeping a 34 year old man with no professional skills in check and keeping your other team mates from killing the aforementioned member, you have a very difficult four months.

I’m not sure exactly how I managed it but I’ll tell you this much.. my grades suffered as a result.

I was very proud of my near perfect GPA. At the beginning of December it even paid off slightly via a Thousand dollar scholarship check dropping at my door. Was a very nice surprise. But this semester I will be very lucky if I can walk away with something closer to a 3.0. I might even be optimistic about that number but I’m trying not to dwell…

Being mediocre in my studies is not what I’m used to. I’m not happy with the current situation but there really is nothing that I can do about it. I just need to get over it and move forward. I have 4 months left. Power through and get it done.

Now on to some much needed rest. Three weeks of doing nothing school related. Except study some of the stuff I think I’m weak at from the last semester. And maybe go over some of the things I’m stronger at. Maybe I’ll just skim the whole semester and be done with it.

Yeah you. The one sitting at a table for four at the local Starbucks. You, the one with your shit scattered all over the place, chatting loudly on your iphone while browsing what looks like Macrumors.com and pontificating on how the world needs to fall in line with clean design.
